Specialty coffee in the heart of Riga

What makes it Amber
Nine small reasons the coffee tastes better here
Amber Coffee is a two-barista bar off the cobbled lanes of the old town. Everything below is simply how we work every morning — short menu, fresh beans, no rush.
-
Roasted in small batches
One amber espresso blend and a rotating single origin, never more than two weeks off the roaster.
-
Filter poured by hand
Every V60 is brewed to order on a scale and a timer, so the cup you get is the cup we tasted this morning.
-
Open seven days a week
Mon–Fri 8:00–19:00 and Sat–Sun 9:00–18:00 — early enough before work, late enough after a walk.
-
In the heart of the old town
You will find us at Kaleju iela 7, Riga, a few steps off the cobbled lanes.
-
Oat, soy and no extra charge
Barista oat and soy are steamed on the same bar, at the same price as dairy. Just say the word.
-
Pastries baked each morning
A short tray of croissants and rye buns arrives at opening and is gone by early afternoon.
-
Beans to brew at home
Take a 250 g bag of whatever is on the bar, ground for your brewer while you finish your cup.
-
Quiet enough to read in
Soft music, no blenders and a long window table. Plenty of regulars spend a whole morning here.
-
Cold brew on tap in summer
Steeped for sixteen hours, poured over ice, sweet and low in acidity — no milk needed.
What guests say
Regulars, and people who found us by accident
A few words from the people who sit at our counter — tourists off the cobbled lanes, and the neighbours who come back every morning.
-
I came in for a flat white on my first morning in Riga and ended up here every day of the trip. They let me taste the filter before I ordered it, told me which farm it came from, and remembered my name by Thursday. The quietest good coffee in the old town.
-
My office is two streets away, so this is the 8am stop. Espresso is consistently excellent and the cold brew got me through July.
-
A small room with proper seats, real cups and no music shouting over you. We read here most Sunday mornings and nobody rushes us out.
-
Asked for something without milk and left with a V60 that tasted like apricot. Genuinely the best cup I had in Latvia.
